Performance, Narrative and Concept.

For this task we was asked to research and relate the types of a music video (narrative, concepts, performance) and give an example video of each.
 
Concept; This type of music video, rather than featuring the band performing the song, is presented as a visual narrative. These can be original stories, homages to a favourite TV show or movie, or anything else the performer or director comes up with.

This Kendrick Lamar DNA music video is an example of a concept music video as it is representing a topic chosen by the artists and is shown visually through somebody other than the artist.

Narrative; A video that features a visual story that is easy to follow. The lyrics are often reflected within the story.

This rudimental waiting all night is an example of a narrative music video because the video and song links together and tells a story.
Performance; A music video which presents the artist/band throughout the entire song, this usually involves a dance routine.

This Flo Rida Low music video is a performance music video as it involves the artist being the centre of attention and performing a dance routine.

    Fairly good examples Jordan. Just check your understanding of concept - a concept video is usually much more artistic and alternative. Your example is more of a narrative.
